Jenna Ortega Imagines - Her and I (2024)

Y/N's POV:

"She won't show up." I nervously bite my nails, thinking about how Jenna won't accept my invite to my high school prom.

I knew she wouldn't because of her growing fame. She couldn't exactly fit my prom in her busy schedule and while I understood, it didn't mean that I wasn't a bit upset about it.

"She will, stop stressing so much." Billie has stuck by my side through thick and thin. While she also proceeds to gain fame, she's been my ride or die. Plus, she's the only one who can do my hair the way I want.

"You're right, you're right." I rambled out slightly while letting out a deep sigh. I begin playing Ride by Twenty-One Pilots and let it blast through my speakers.

"Hell yeah! Now, let's get you prom ready." Billie smirked before working her magic on me.

-

"Damn." Billie eyed me up and down, smiling proudly with her hands on her hips like a proud best friend should. "You look hot, girl."

"Thanks." I chuckled with a small blush from her attention. I tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I turned to look at myself in the mirror — I wore a simple green dress that sparkles in the dark. I let out an unintentional sigh.

"Okay." Billie stood up and approached me from behind, looking at me through the mirror. "Jenna will show up and you will have a good time, okay? If not, call me, and I'll take you on an ice cream date to cheer you up."

I smiled up at her, she always knew how to cheer me up. "Thanks." I hugged my best friend tightly. "I think I'm ready to go now."

Billie nodded and rushed down, calling for her mom who would drive us both down so they could drop me off.

Here goes nothing, I guess.

-

I stood awkwardly in the corner of the gym by the punch table. It had already been 30 minutes as I awaited for Jenna. I wanted to give her the benefit of doubt and give her some time to get here, which is why I withheld from texting Billie.

But, another 15 minutes went by. And she hasn't showed up.

My friends all went off to dance with their dates or each other. I accompanied them, dancing crazily with them to songs like Dynamite by Tao Cruz or Put It On Me by Ja Rule and Vita.

Soon enough, The Night We Met began playing and everyone dispersed to grab ahold of their dates, slow dancing with them. I stood by myself on the dance floor.

I blinked back tears as I began to make my way off, pulling out my phone to text Billie but before I could hit send, I looked up and saw the one person I had been waiting for.

Jenna motherf*cking Ortega.

She was looking around for me at the entrance, a single rose in her hand. She wore a beautiful black dress with green outlining it to match with mine. She hated heels like I did, so we both wore flat, black converse.

Her eyes finally locked on mine and I felt every bone in my body freeze up as she began walking towards me.

"I'm so sorry, baby. I meant to get here way sooner, but sh*t, traffic was insane and my manager was pestering about my roles and then Mom thought it would be good if I got you a ride to kinda make up for it but-"

I couldn't help but cut her off with a searing kiss, a smile immediately pulling at her lips as she kissed me back just as eagerly and slowly. We took our time to enjoy this.

"I'm just happy you came." I whispered against her lips.

Jenna glanced up, smiling as she admired the gym. "Well, the night isn't over yet, right? I believe this song just started playing, so let's go have the time of our lives." She handed me the rose, I gratefully took it with a blush. "I owe my girl a dance."

She held her arm out for me and guided me to the middle of the dance floor once I took it. As soon as we came into the spotlight, everyone's eyes were on us. I wasn't surprised that they recognized Jenna already.

"Just focus on me." Jenna kept her eyes on me the whole time, it was clear she couldn't care less about the prying eyes of others.

I looked into her brown irises, smiling when her arms slipped around my waist, her hands bawling into fists so she didn't make me uncomfortable by holding my ass.

My arms slithered around her shoulders, my hands occupying themselves by playing with the baby hair on her neck. The song was almost over, but I was having the time of my life with Jenna.

We slowly swayed from side to side. I eventually laid my head on her chest, feeling Jenna kiss the top of my head made me smile and close my eyes in content.

When the song ended, a little more upbeat one began playing and everyone broke back off into groups.

Jenna and I remained in our same position. I looked up at her, seeing her staring back at me with stars in her eyes and a loving smile on her face.

"Thank you for coming." I whispered, kissing her cheek. "You made me the happiest girl in the world."

She blushed and shrugged her shoulders. "I only ever try for you, my darling." She kissed my nose, chuckling when I scrunched up at that. "I love you."

"I love you more." I smiled as I admired the rose she gave me again. Jenna placed her forehead against mine, her eyes closed as we soaked in the moment, the world disappeared from around us.

It was just her and I. Forever.
